Borderlands 2 is a first-person shooter video game released by 2K Games in 2012. It was developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games in 2012. The game is set five years after the events of Borderlands (2009), and it takes place on the planet of Pandora once more. The plot revolves around a new troop of Vault Hunters who must join forces with the Crimson Raiders, a resistance group made up of civilian survivors and guerrilla warriors, to destroy the despotic Handsome Jack before he can unleash the power of a new Vault. Exploring the in-game world and completing both primary missions and optional side tasks is possible in offline splitscreen, single-player, or online cooperative gameplay.

Borderlands 2 Story

Handsome Jack, the game's major antagonist, has taken over the Hyperion Corporation, declared himself Dictator of Pandora, and claimed full credit for locating The Vault, even going so far as to claim culpability for killing The Destroyer, five years after the events of Borderlands. A gigantic circling H-shaped structure put in front of Pandora's immovable moon has also blacked out much of the planet's light, producing a 'big brother' atmosphere throughout the world. In Borderlands 2, a new group of Vault Hunters is tasked with murdering Jack and restoring peace to Pandora.

Borderlands 2 starts with the heroes riding a train to an unknown location in quest of the vault. The train turns out to be a set-up by Handsome Jack to assassinate everyone looking for the Vault. The Vault Hunters stave off the bad guys long enough to reach a rail car full of explosives and a dummy Handsome Jack. The train crashes in the Arctic Wasteland as a result of the bomb, scattering our new team over the ruins. Claptrap is sifting through the remains when the Vault Hunters wake up in the game. Handsome Jack must be murdered, according to the enigmatic Guardian Angel, who directs players to liberate the four original Vault hunters from Hyperion's captivity in order to do so. All four original Vault Hunters return as NPCs in the sequel, playing key roles in the main plot and providing optional missions that continue their personal stories.
