Brandin Cook’s Height, Weight, Girlfriend, Family, Biography

Brandin Cooks is an American football player who came aboard the National Football League (NFL) after being drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Prior to the NFL, the wide receiver played college football with the Oregon State Beavers football team and established himself as one of the top receivers in the institution’s history.

It’s about half a decade since the player started playing professionally, and just like good wine gets sweeter with time, brandin gets better on the grill.

Brandin Cook’s biography

The wide receiver was born Brandin Tawan Cooks on September 25, 1993 in Stockton, California where he attended Lincoln High School and played football for the Trojans. In addition to football, he also played basketball and ran track. Brandin Cooks was ranked 26th best wide receiver and 240th overall in his class by Rivals.com.

After completing his high school education, he first got involved with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) but later transferred to Oregon State University, where he ran and played soccer from 2011 to 2013 under head coach Mike Riley.

During his freshman year, he played all 12 games, starting at three. Along with Markus Wheaton, Cooks made history at school as the duo became one of the most dynamic receiving couples, rushing for 158 receptions, 2,395 yards and 16 touchdowns during the 2012 season.

He recorded 128 receptions and 1,730 reception yards (both Pac-12 records) in his junior year of 2013 and also hit 16 touchdowns. By the end of the 2013 season, Brandin Cooks won the Fred Biletnikoff Award and was named a Consensus All-American.

He later decided to forgo his senior season in favor of the 2014 NFL Draft. During the draft, Brandin was selected as the 20th overall pick by the New Orleans Saints in the first round. On May 18, 2014, he signed a four-year, $8.3 million deal with the team.

During his final season with the Saints, the New England Patriots traded two of their players to the Saints for Brandin Cooks and a 2017 fourth-round draft, and on April 3, 2018, the New England Patriots traded Cooks to the Los Angeles Rams.

His family

Brandin Cooks is the son of Worth Cooks (father) and Andrea Cooks (mother). He is the youngest of four brothers – Fred, Worth Jr. and Andre – who are very close to their father, a former Navy bounty hunter. According to the player’s mother, Brandin rushed home from school and went in search of his father, who liked to compete against his boys and entertain them with stories from his youth.

Unfortunately, the tight-knit group was struck with the death of her father when Brandin was just 6 years old. Worth Cooks Snr. died of a heart attack at her home in Stockton a few days after agreeing to undergo surgery. He had said he wanted to watch his boys grow up but when he was 48 he died in his wife’s arms on the floor of their living room and from that day everything changed.

Each family member struggled with the loss of their father in different ways. The first son, Fred, who was already away from home, worked hard and helped whenever he could. Worth Jr. became a father at age 15 and almost didn’t finish high school, while Andre, Brandin’s closest childhood friend, was in prison and out of prison. His mother, who was already working in a shipping and receiving warehouse, took another job in an after-school program to fill the void left by the loss of her husband.

Because Brandin was very young and never really understood the weight of his father’s death, it turns out he was the only one not permanently affected by the incident. He continued to enjoy the pleasures of his beloved sport – football – and his brothers never ceased to encourage him. “I always told him, don’t be like me, don’t be like us. You can be the one who’s different,” Worth said. And yes, Brandin took the advice, becoming the first in his family to graduate from college visited.

According to his brother Andre, Brandini inspires him. Always the most ambitious of them all, he had a clear path from the start and they all knew he was the one who would make it happen. As children, Brandin and Andre were partners in Virtue and Vice. They got into big trouble and while they knelt in a corner of their mother’s room as punishment, Andre, the family comedian, whispered jokes to his brother, who always found it impossible to suppress his giggles. The brothers are so close that when Andre was sent back to prison just before a big college game, the family didn’t tell Brandin until after the game, knowing the news would hit him hard.

Some players are motivated by money, but Brandin’s motivation comes from a desire to make his family proud by doing it right. Before he came into the NFL, he looked forward to the day when he could recognize his mother for her love and sacrifice, and that day he finally earned $100,000 from Adidas for running the fastest 40 in the NFL combine, while wearing her studs. He used the money to buy his mother a new Mercedes-Benz GLK 350 in April 2014.

While vacationing off-season on the Hawaiian island of Maui, the football player proposed to Briannon on June 22, 2017, and she agreed. They married on July 7, 2018.
