BIOGRAPHY
Raised in Florida, Channing Tatum landed his first contract at age 20 when he became one of the lead dancers in Ricky Martin’s music video She Bangs . The following year, he began a modeling career by posing for an issue of Vogue. He then participated in advertising campaigns for the brands Abercrombie & Fitch, Nautica, Gap, Dolce & Gabbana, Emporio Armani and Aéropostale before filming a Pepsi commercial for international distribution. Noted for his natural charisma and athletic qualities, Channing Tatum began acting training under the direction of Harold Guskin at the Dena Levy Acting Studio.
This is how in 2004, the young actor made his first appearance on television in an episode of the series CSI: Miami . In the cinema, we see him alongside Samuel L. Jackson in Coach Carter in 2005, then in three teen movies : She’s the Man (2006), inspired by Shakespeare ‘s Twelfth Night , Sexy Dance and its sequel Sexy Dance 2 (2008). But with a physique built for action, the young star wasted no time in wanting to play fists in Fighting (2009) and guns in Michael Mann ‘s Public Enemies . As the crowning achievement of his very young career, he found himself the same year at the head of the GI Joe commando for a supercharged blockbuster directed by Stephen Sommers . Propelled to the lead, he now never leaves the title roles, and thus plays the soldiers in love, in an epistolary relationship with Amanda Seyfried for the needs of the romantic drama Dear John (2010). The following year, he changed register again and donned the armor of the Roman centurion Marcus Aquila in search of The Eagle of the Ninth Legion , in a historical adventure orchestrated by Kevin Macdonald . Steven Soderbergh then spotted this statuesque actor and made him one of his favorite actors. Thus, Channing Tatum shoots several times under the leadership of the filmmaker of Ocean’s Eleven : the action thriller Trapped (2012) carried by the athletic Gina Carano , the comedy about the world of striptease Magic Mike (id.) and its sequel (2015), the psychopharmacology thriller Side Effects (2013) and the heist film Logan Lucky (2017).

He continues with the sequels to his previous successes (22 Jump Street, Magic Mike XXL) while establishing himself with renowned directors. If the space opera Jupiter: The Destiny of the Universe was a dismal failure, it nevertheless allowed the actor to film under the direction of the Wachowski sisters . We then see him in the bloody western The Bastard Eight by Quentin Tarantino and in the comedy Hail, Caesar! by the Coen brothers , dedicated to Hollywood in the 1950s.
After Logan Lucky and Kingsman: The Golden Circle – where he plays a cowboy and agent of the Statesman, the American counterpart of Kingsman – released in 2017, the actor favors dubbing with Yeti & Company , the animated Lego saga and America: The Movie . The public finds him again for a cameo in Free Guy , but it is in 2022 that Channing Tatum makes his comeback to the cinema.
