BIOGRAPHY
Argentine rock singer-songwriter, composer, musician and producer, Charly García changed classical music, which governed his childhood, for the electric guitar and other rhythms in his youth, and soon founded two groups of great importance in Spanish rock, such as Sui Generis and Serú Girán, in addition to also leading PorSuiGieco and La Maquina de Making Pájaros. With the piano as his main instrument, followed by the guitar and keyboards, in 1982 García debuted as a soloist and made the soundtrack for Pubis angelical , a film by Raúl de la Torre. His album Modern Clics (1983) was considered by Rolling Stone magazine as the second best in the history of Argentine rock and eight more of his albums were also included in said list. Charly García is widely considered by critics to be one of South America’s most influential rock artists and (along with Luis Alberto Spinetta) as “The Father of Argentine Rock.” In 2020 he participated in the Netflix original documentary series Rompan Todo .
