Daisy Ridley was born Daisy Jazz Isobel Ridley, the youngest of three daughters of Louise Caroline Fawkner-Corbett and Christopher Ridley on April 10, 1992 in Westminster, London. Her father is a photographer while her mother worked as a banker. Her great-uncle is Arnold Ridley, a well-known English playwright and actor.

With her family having longstanding ties to the family, Ridley received a scholarship to attend Hertfordshire’s Tring Park School of Performing Arts at the age of 9. It was also said that her family enrolled her in school so that she could channel all of the energy that had led her to struggle in elementary school in the right direction.

At arts education school Daisy Ridley, after forming a close friendship with her acting teacher, developed a deeper interest in acting. She also took classes to improve her skills as a jazz and cabaret singer. After graduating, Ridley enrolled at Birbeck University of London to study classical civilization. However, she dropped out of school to pursue an acting career.

The following year after hearing this director JJ Abrams was looking for fresh faces for the new Star Wars film. Ridley made sure he attended the auditions and was ready for any part available. She attended about five auditions before receiving a call from Abrams telling her she’d landed the lead role.

Daisy Ridley has two sisters; Kika-Rose Ridley and Poppy Sophia Ridley. The older of the siblings, Poppy Sophia, was born on March 1, 1987. She majored in physical education in college before pursuing a career in music. Poppy Sophia is currently engaged to Australian Mark Semmens with whom she lives Down Under.

The second sister, Kika-Rose, who was born in 1989, is a model who has appeared in a number of magazines. At the age of 14 she started modeling and was able to make a career out of it.
