Garth Brooks has been married twice in his lifetime. His first marriage was on May 24, 1986 to his college sweetheart, Sandy Mahl. Their marriage had three daughters, namely; Taylor Mayne Pearl (b. 1992), August Anna (b. 1994) and Allie Colleen Brooks (b. 1996).

Unfortunately, their marriage turned sour in 1999 when they broke up. They filed for divorce in 2001, which was finalized on December 17, 2001. Brooks reportedly paid around $124 million following a divorce. The divorce impacted the career of Garth, who took early retirement in 2000.

A few years passed and Brooks found love again, this time in the eyes of singer Trisha Yearwood. They started dating and Yearwood also took a break from her career. Brooks popped the question on May 25, 2005 in Bakersfield, Calif., with 7,000 fans in attendance. She said yes! and they married on December 10, 2005.
