The cornerback was born Joshua Ricardo Norman on the exact day of Christmas on the 15th in 1987. He is one of five children born to Roy and Sandra Norman. The family has four other beautiful sons besides Josh namely Mario, Orlando, Phillip and Renaldo.
For his educational pursuits, he attended Greenwood High School and started out as an active football player, playing on the school team with Armanti Edwards and DJ Swearinger.
While in high school, he was involved in the basketball, baseball, soccer, and track games, but decided to pursue a career in soccer. He was an outstanding football player, earning All-State Footballer and North-South All-Star Game mentions.
Despite his brilliance in high school, he never received a scholarship from a Division I school. Nonetheless, his brother Mario Norman, who also played soccer, received a scholarship to the Carolina Coast. So Josh moved in with him and started courses at Horry Georgetown Tech. Laid a good foundation in high school and college, he was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the 2012 NFL Draft.
