BIOGRAPHY
Predestined for a career as a professional footballer, Mario Casas changes his plans by joining Cristina Rota’s drama school in Madrid. After a brief appearance in Motivos personales , the young man stood out in the series Obsesión and Mujeres . Antonio Banderas directs him in his feature film Summer Rain . Not in bad demand, he plays a teenager from modest origins targeted by rich kids in SMS, dreams full of heads .

In 2007, Mario Casas became Aitor Carrasco, one of the young recruits of the police series Los hombres de Paco . A role he held until May 2010. Starring in films such as Hot School and Mentiras y gordas , Mario Casas flirts with danger in 3 meters above the sky – Twilight Love , by participating in fights street racing and illegal motorcycle racing. The success was such that a sequel ( Twilight Love 2 ) was released two years later.

The public discovered him in 2011 in the skin of Ulises, one of the protagonists of the series El Barco . Embarked illegally on a boat to meet his father, the young man is one of the survivors following a cataclysm with global repercussions. The actor remained in the show until the end of the adventure three years later.

In The 33 , Mario Casas reunites with Antonio Banderas, this time in front of the camera, for a film recounting a terrible mining accident that occurred in Chile in August 2010 and the efforts made to try to save the 33 trapped miners. In 2015, the actor slipped into the shoes of a young man finding love in Guinea ( Palmiers dans la neige ), at a time when the country was a Spanish colony facing slavery.

In high demand, Mario Casas multiplies his projects. Mi gran noche , The Accused , Trapped or In the Skin of the Wolf . The actor can afford to choose his roles and focus on entertainment as well as incredible stories, as with The Photographer of Mauthausen on the atrocities of the Nazi camps.

In 2019, Mario Casas returns to the small screen with Instinto , an erotic thriller that does not leave Spanish viewers indifferent. Nailed to an armchair and eager for revenge in Irremediable , he displays an astonishing metamorphosis and once again surprises his audience. His performance in Cross The Lineearned him several awards, including the Goya for Best Actor.

Netflix subscribers will discover him, in spring 2021, headlining the series Innocent , adapted from one of Harlan Coben ‘s bestsellers . He plays Mat, a man who received a prison sentence following manslaughter.
