BIOGRAPHY
Born to parents who were school teachers from Corsica, Philippe Corti visited the island of beauty several times with his family over several summers. Once his baccalaureate was completed, he joined the Nîmes law school. Two years later, he did his military service. Passionate about music and attracted to the nightlife world, he worked as a record dealer then showed off his talents as a DJ in nightclubs in the south of France.
In 1985, Philippe opened his first nightclub, La Scatola in Port-Camargue. In this establishment, he became better known in the community by hosting several memorable evenings, notably the wedding of journalist Yves Mourousi, where 30,000 people were present. The following year, the DJ and entrepreneur created the club Le Distriko in Paris. Two years later, he took over as head of Le Papagayo, located in Saint-Tropez.
In 1986, Philippe Corti made a decisive meeting in the person of Thierry Ardisson , who offered him the opportunity to join the show Bains de midnight (followed by Lunettes Noirs pour nuits blanche and, several years later, the talk show Tout le monde en parole where he is the DJ of the show). But, in 1994, this big name in the nightlife world was forced to serve two years in prison for having been associated with drug trafficking.
On the cinema side, Philippe Corti plays the presenter in the drama about the world of show biz Move! (1997), alongside Ambre Boukebza and Ophélie Winter . He then played the character of Marechal in Sous le soleil from 2004 to 2007 and then appeared in two successful crime series: Alice Nevers, the judge is a woman and Mafiosa . We also see him on stage in the (violent) play A Clockwork Orange .
At the same time, the native of Millau diversified and released his first album in 2004, entitled Un Dur, Un Vrai, Un Tatoué tir , where he revived the post-war songs performed (in particular) by Fernandel. A year later, he became the musical host for Intervilles on France 2, then on France 3 from 2006 to 2008. He also wrote the story of his life in Autobiographie d’un DJ , which was published in 2005 and prefaced by Frédéric Beigbeder .
In 2017, Philippe Corti slipped into the shoes of a police officer in the TV film Tensions sur le Cap Corse , directed by Richard Bohringer . At the beginning of the 2020s, he toured several times alongside and under the leadership of Eric Fraticelli in comedies Building permit (2022), Le Clan (2023) and Inestimable (id.). He is also seen in Olivier Marchal ‘s gangster film , Overdose , which is released on Amazon Prime in 2022.
