Who is Sky Williams (YouTube Star), is he gay, where is he now?

Sky Williams is a man of many hats. Apart from being a gaming phenom and a comedian, he is also a YouTuber, a sponsored live streamer on Twitch, and a vlogger. He became the League of Legend comedian who joked about being black and gay.

Although most of his videos are inspired by his personal experiences, his video repertoire has expanded over the years to include silly games, Q&As, fake news, and more.

Who is Sky Williams? – Biography,

Sky Williams is a master at the various crafts he plays. He is an online gaming personality in both video sharing platform, YouTube and Twitch, comedy humor and video blogger. He is generally known for live streaming his League of Legends (LoL) themed videos.

The streamer was born on January 30, 1991, as Gregory Scott Williams in San Jose, Californa, the youngest of three children, to Sharon and Greg Williams. His siblings are Alex and Nick and his parents separated when he was only three years old. After her parents divorced, her mother later remarried. Although he stayed with his mother, he does not get along well with his stepfather.

As a child, he was very athletic and quick to learn, so he was encouraged to participate in the gifted and talent education program. However, by the time he reached the sixth grade of elementary school, he was struggling with depression, an illness made worse by his classmates, many of whom bullied him. He found solace in video games and played them a lot, especially the Super Smash Brothers, which got him hooked on the art.

Williams has established a commanding presence on gaming platforms and as such has attracted a large following. He has nearly a million subscribers on his YouTube channel and over 270,000 subscribers on the Twitch network.

As his acting empire grew, Williams gradually became involved in improvisational comedy, albeit as a hobby at first. This supposed hobby eventually evolved into a major part of his career, and he continued to perform as a comedian. Although he started his career as a gamer, becoming a popular LoL player, he first tasted fame after he started doing comedy. Sky Williams is close friends with fellow LoL streamers VideoGameDunkey, Sp4zie and Sunnysplosion and often collaborates with them.

Career progression

Facing the harsh realities of life while growing up, such as bullying and depression, Williams found comfort in video games. With his increasingly refined gaming prowess, he began to explore other possibilities available in the arena, such as competitive online video gaming. Thereafter, he was trapped and used his arsenal to be the best, including attending video game tournaments every week to hone his skills and probably find a better platform for his art. A pure fascination, you will agree no less. It was also around this time that he became involved in improvisational comedy which he later incorporated into his career.

As his gaming adventures soared, his comic ineptitude also advanced in a major feat. He got so good that he entered his high school talent show and eventually won the trophy by cracking his own jokes. As a result of this feat, he then concluded that he would become a comedian. And a comedian, he became.

The player’s depression resurfaced following family issues and the loss of his best friend to bacterial meningitis. While the first caused him to leave the house he shares with his family permanently, the second exaggerated his depression. Williams became more active in gaming playing LoL, he worked as a waiter at Applebees for six years and uploaded his first comedy video to Reddit; a talk about other LoL players. He eventually started posting videos on his YouTube account.

Prior to the video upload, he heard about the Flappers Comedy Club comedy contest while working at Applebees. He competed and finished in fourth place among 400 competitors. Two months after the comedy video was uploaded to Reddit, the video exploded, making him a celebrity.

Is he gay?

Sky Williams is an openly gay African-American. Supposedly, he found out about his sexuality around the same time he faced bullying from other students and struggled with depression.

At the beginning, he was afraid to recognize his identity especially to his family, knowing that their culture contrasts with his own. As he sought refuge in the gaming world, he realized that losing or being gay was not what his fellow gamers were concerned about, but that they shared the passion for the game. Having found a place where he is most accepted, he found success as a comedian and player.

Where is Sky Williams now?

Williams would still be active in the video game has not stopped giving his views on matters that concern him. In 2014, he released a video about depression titled “A Message for the Depressed” after the alleged suicide of actor, Robin Williams.

The video draws on his own experiences with the condition in an effort to reach those in the same situation. It went viral and reached a much larger audience than its subscribers. It is currently the most watched video on his channel with over 2 million views. It has also been featured in prominent online publications such as The UK Telegraph and The Huffington Post.

Her content is ever-changing and usually revolves around her personal experiences, often delivered through monologues or rants. He is also active on Twitter, although he was banned in April 2018 for what the network called heinous behavior. His account, however, was reinstated within a month.
